Reflection
I think the most important theory is the free-market theory. It is the basic theory of the system and the fundamental to many other theories. And I think Adam Smith is the greatest economist as he is called the founder of economics.
Another great economist: Amartya Sen
Amartya Sen is an Indian economist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 1998 for his contributions to welfare economics and social choice theory and for his attention to the problems of society’s poorest people. Sen was born in 1933 in Santiniketan. He graduated Presidency College, Kolkata, and got a PhD in Trinity College, University of Cambridge. He is well known for his work on the causes of famine, which led to the development of practical solutions for preventing or limiting the effects of real or perceived shortages of food. He is currently a Professor of Economics and Philosophy at Harvard University. Some of his famous publications are ‘Development as Freedom’, ‘On ethics and Economics’ and ‘Inequality Reexamined’.
