Bitcoin is representative money as it is computer file and has no real value, and its use is not supported by any authority. I think it qualifies the four characteristics of money to some extent; it can be used to measure value of goods or services (measure of value), a borrower can take it and pay it back later (standard for a deferred payment), It is accepted by many people (medium of exchange), and it can be stored (store of value).
however, it can be said that bitcoin does not effectively fulfill the four characteristics. Still, many people do not know about bitcoin. As its exchange rate is very flunctuate, the value stored in it is not very stable. And, due to nature of computer network, computers may be hacked and bitcoin stored there might be stolen.
One of the other examples of a currency in the speech is sweat. Nike runs campaign, which the amount of a person's physical activity can be exhanged for Nike products. But I don't think it is a good currency as some might not be properly traded, leading to inaccuracied of measure of 'sweat'.
For things that match at least one of the four characteristics of money, a pen can be one of those. It is used when wrting, which means it has value (store of value).
